Nintendo Wii, has sold more than 50 million units globally since its debut in November 2006, according to a statement from the company. Nintendo also reports the Wii now boasts 54 games hitting the one-million sales mark, led by Mario Kart Wii, which sold 15.4 million, and Wii Fit at over 16 million. As for Wii Music, a game panned by critics at its launch late last year, it sold 2.65 million worldwide. That’s really cool gadget from Nintendo. Love it

Nintendo Wii Sells 714,000 console in U.S. in April

I got this news this morning, regarding to number of console to We still haven’t received the official NPD numbers for the month of April, but that hasn’t dissuaded the requisite number-spinning from kicking off a little early. Nintendo announced Thursday that they sold 714,000 Wiis (wait, let’s restate that with more appropriate urgency: 714,000 Wiis) in the U.S. during the month of April. That, according to Nintendo, puts it in the lead for the month amongst all hardware sales, with the Nintendo DS reportedly coming in second (although specific figures weren’t released). Current Total U.S. Wii sales up to 9.5 million to-date.
